Mandela Day: RapidStudio Gives Back with Alphabet Canvases

Mandela Day is a time to give back, and the RapidStudio team proudly dedicated their 67 minutes of service to a meaningful project that will benefit children in under-served areas.

Painting with Purpose

The team, along with their families and kids, embraced the Paint By Shadow concept to create vibrant alphabet canvases. Each canvas featured a letter of the alphabet paired with an image of an animal or object starting with that letter. Instead of using traditional imagery, we chose icons that would resonate with South African children, making them both relatable and engaging.

Completing the Sets

Over the course of the day, we painted not just one but two full sets of alphabet canvases. The bold, colorful canvases were then donated to Flying Children, a local charity committed to improving care for preschool children in under-served communities. The organization focuses on supporting orphans and disadvantaged children through skill-building workshops for teachers, parent training, aftercare services, and more.

Family and Community Involvement

It was a family affair, with many of our staff bringing along their loved ones to help out. Tonia brought her daughters, Memory and Lenah brought their kids, and even I brought my parents to join in the fun and hard work. The extra helping hands made the day even more special.

A Labor of Love

Although the project took much more than 67 minutes to complete, we were all proud to contribute our time and effort to something so special. Knowing that these canvases will brighten the lives of less fortunate children and help support their early education means the world to us.

Mandela Day reminds us all of the power of giving back, and this year’s project was a heartfelt reminder of the difference we can make together.
