Maximise Your Smart Phone Battery This Holiday Season
These days, smart phones have become the hand-held camera of choice, thanks to their ever-increasing image quality, diverse apps, and convenience. But while we’re exhausted during the holiday madness, our phone batteries take a beating too!
Bust the Myths: Tips to Charge Smarter
You may think you’ve mastered your smart phone, but there are lots of myths about battery charging. Follow these tips to get the most out of your battery:
- Amp it up!
Most phones come with a 0.8amp or 1.0amp travel-sized charger. Upgrade to a 2.4amp charger compatible with your phone. This will decrease charge time so you can use your device more often. - Hold the Middle Ground
Keep your battery between 30% and 60% as much as possible. Overcharging (100%) and letting it run flat reduces overall battery lifespan. - Monthly Maintenance
Let your phone run down and fully recharge at least once a month to keep the battery calibration optimal. - Avoid the Hot Mess
Heat is your battery’s worst enemy. Anything over 35°C can reduce battery life.- Avoid direct sun (e.g., when GPS navigating on your dashboard).
- ️ If your phone heats up, give it a break to cool down.
- For intensive tasks (like uploading images), wrap an ice brick in a towel and rest your phone on top.
