Celebrate Earth Day with RapidStudio: Environmental and Climate Literacy
This year’s Earth Day is all about Environmental and Climate Literacy. As custodians of this amazing planet, we all need to learn how our actions can either help or hinder the environment. At RapidStudio, we’re taking steps to reduce our environmental footprint – and you can, too! Here's how we’re making a difference:
🌞 RapidStudio's Solar Array
We’re generating clean energy! 1/3 of our power comes from renewable energy sources. In fact, we’ve generated enough energy to power 10 small homes for 4 years – or run the ICE-3 high-speed train for 3,200 km. Impressive!
♻ Recycle
We sort waste before collection to ensure better recycling. In 2014, we set up a dedicated sorting area and learned how much of an impact this small effort makes. You can do this at home or work, too!
💧 Rainwater Collection
Using rainwater tanks is a simple and cost-effective way to save water. At RapidStudio, we collect rainwater from a quarter of our roof and plan to expand next year. Remember, small steps make a big impact!
💡 Energy Efficiency
We made the switch to low-energy lighting in January 2015. To go the extra mile, we also removed lighting in unused areas. You can save energy – and money – by making similar changes at home or work!
🚗 Transport
In February, we upgraded our company fleet to fuel-efficient 900cc Kia Picantos. Improved fuel economy reduces costs, air pollution and noise pollution. Our next goal? A fleet of electric cars!
