Celebrating 20 years of democracy, what better way to commemorate this milestone than by uniting with like-minded people at one of Johannesburg's biggest events? It was a privilege to be part of this momentous occasion, joined by the vibrant and energetic Team RapidStudio.

Getting Ready for the Big Walk

As we gathered together on a chilly morning, excitement filled the air. The cold weather wasn’t enough to dampen our spirits, although the roadblocks along the way gave us a few laughs. Despite frozen toes and hands, we were determined to make this walk memorable.

At the starting point, the atmosphere was electric. Families with babies in prams, toddlers, and even dogs—both big and small—joined the festivities. Everyone danced, sang, and cheered, united in celebration. Dr Victor’s music kept the crowd energized, and at 9 AM, the countdown began for the 8km walk. The organization of the event was impressive, with facilities for everyone, including our furry friends.

Spotting Familiar Faces

Our bright yellow RapidStudio-branded gear made us easy to spot, and we were thrilled to see some of our clients among the crowd. Thelma and I even joined a customer and her family for part of the walk, enjoying casual chats and strengthening our connection with them. One of our photographers also joined in, making it an even more special day.

A Moment in the Spotlight

Our eye-catching gear caught the attention of the SuperSport team, earning us an on-camera interview. Our excitement was contagious, and the presenter couldn’t help but join in our enthusiasm. By this time, the sun had come out, making sunglasses a necessity as we continued our joyful trek.

Making Memories Along the Way

As we passed the 6km mark, we decided to spice things up by photo-bombing strangers’ selfies, much to their amusement. High-fives and laughs ensued as we introduced people to RapidStudio and shared what we do. It was a perfect blend of fun and networking!

Crossing the Finish Line

Reaching the finish line was a triumphant moment. We were welcomed with live music, a buzzing crowd, and medals for all participants. The field was filled with vibrant energy and displays celebrating South Africa’s 20 years of democracy, adding a meaningful touch to the day.

Looking Forward to 2015

Another successful team-building event had come to an end, leaving us eagerly anticipating next year’s 702 Walk the Talk. Our aim for 2015? To enter a RapidStudio team in every distance category. As Shaun Bowen put it, “Next year we do it bigger and better!”

I am proud to be part of this incredible team. A team is made up of individuals working together as one body, and RapidStudio truly nailed it!
